History

The history of the enterprise begins in 1944. It was then that in the oldest national park of Belarus "Priluki", founded at the end of the 18th century, the Belarusian Receiving Radio Center was created to organize radio communications and reception radio broadcasting from Moscow.

Due to the organization of television broadcasting in the BSSR in 1957 in Priluki, on the basis of the Belarusian Republican Radio Center, a Technical Radio Monitoring Station was created. This made it possible to carry out radio monitoring of international programs in the western direction, as well as to carry out radio monitoring of artificial Earth satellites signals.

On December 1, 1959, the country celebrated a century of the telecommunications industry in Belarus. On this day, by a government decree, the State Telecommunications Authority (GIE) under the Ministry of Communications of the BSSR as well as a technical radio monitoring station were established. Immediately in the regional centers of the BSSR, the GIE units and radio interference control groups were created. The groups consisted of 4-5 people and were part of the regional communications departments.

In 1979, a special government decree of the USSR was issued. According to the document, in the regional cities of the country and in some towns - Molodechno, Borisov, Slutsk, Mozyr and others - additional round-the-clock radio monitoring stations were created.

At the end of the 80s, a number of structural changes were made, as a result of which the functions of the GIE and technical radio monitoring station were transferred to the Republican Radio and Television Transmitting Center of the State Inspectorate for Telecommunications in December 1988.

In 1992, a sovereign state was formed - the Republic of Belarus. By that time, the GIE staff consisted of only 7 people, and these people had to take on some of the functions previously performed by the GIE of the Ministry of Communications of the former USSR, including the international direction of work. It was necessary to urgently reorganize the state supervision telecommunications service, both from the production and from the legal aspect.

Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated June 27, 1996 No. 427 “On State Supervision on Telecommunications in the Republic of Belarus” instructed the Ministry of Communications and Informatics to establish the State Authority of Telecommunications of the Republic of Belarus, with the state supervision functions of telecommunications networks and means status, the radio frequency spectrum usage on the country’s territory and ensuring electromagnetic compatibility of radio communication systems.

By Order of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Belarus dated June 27, 1996 No. 77 “On the establishment of the State Enterprise BelGIE”, on the basis of a separate subdivision of the Republican Radio and Television Transmitting Center of the State Inspectorate for Telecommunications, on July 1, 1996, the State Enterprise “BelGIE” was established.

Since that time, the enterprise "BelGIE" has been a radio frequency body of state supervision on telecommunications in the Republic of Belarus. The efforts of the State Enterprise "BelGIE" is aimed at further improving the methods of frequency planning and ensuring the EMC of radio communication systems in order to meet the needs of legal entities and individuals in the radio frequency spectrum for the development of radio and television broadcasting systems, mobile services for various purposes, fixed and satellite communications, ensuring control over using the radio frequency spectrum. Active work is being carried out with the communications administrations of neighboring countries on the management of the radio frequency spectrum, on the coordination of the developed plans for radio frequency assignments to television and radio broadcasting stations of the Republic of Belarus, on the distribution to preferred channels (coordination) of various radio frequency bands for use.

From 2007 to 2010, the enterprise implemented the largest innovative project to create an automated control system for the radio frequency spectrum usage, that allows to perform tasks for the protection and efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum, radio frequency monitoring, and proper emission control of the radio electronic equipment.

According to the results of the republican competitions in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006, RUE "BelGIE" was named the best enterprise in our industry sector.

From 2015 to 2020, Yury Semashko was the head of RUE BelGIE.

From 2020, Aleksei Ivashkin was appointed to the post of the director of the Republican Unitary Enterprise for Supervision on Telecommunications BelGIE.

Today, the Republican Unitary Enterprise for Supervision on Telecommunications "BelGIE" is dynamically developing company that works actively to expand prospective radio frequency bands for the introduction of advanced communication systems.
